About Us

Chesterfield County Public Schools continues to be cited as a model for excellence in public education. Educators from outside of our school division routinely visit our nationally recognized schools to learn more about what we are doing, how we are doing it and why we are doing it. Chesterfield County Public Schools is educating more than 63,000 students in 64 schools. Chesterfield County has 39 elementary schools (grades K-5), 12 middle schools (grades 6-8), 11 high schools (grades 9-12), which include 13 specialty centers, and two career and technical centers.

Our Recruitment

In collaboration with the Metropolitan Educational Research Consortium (MERC), select Chesterfield County Public School teachers from Monacan and Meadowbrook High Schools, are active participants in an action-research study geared towards professional development in the areas of Culturally Responsive Teaching and supporting equity across disciplinary practices.  Fostering inclusive and equitable classrooms is a priority of CCPS. This action-research allows participants to collect and reflect on data related to student outcomes and also plan and implement a Culturally-Responsive Teaching practice.
