ABOUT US

High Tech High is a San Diego, California-based school-development organization that includes a network of charter schools, a teacher certification program, and a graduate school of education. Students are admitted to the public elementary, middle, and high schools through a zip-code based lottery system in an effort to admit a demographically-diverse representative sample of San Diego County.

EQUITY

High Tech High is an equity project. Teachers work to address inequities and help students reach their full potential. Our schools are intentionally diverse and integrated, enrolling students through a zip code-based lottery aimed at creating schools that are reflective of the communities we serve. Teachers recognize the value of having students from different backgrounds working together, and employ a variety of approaches to accommodate diverse learners without academic tracking. High Tech High has an acute focus on college entrance and college completion for all students.

OUR MISSION

HTH schools pay attention to diversity and inclusion. Enrolment is not based on selecting the students by academic ability. All the students pursue a rigorous curriculum that provides the foundation for entry to university, as well as success in the world of work. The model is based on acquiring 21st century skills, the integration of hands and minds and the merging of academic disciplines

At High Tech High, we strive to cultivate a teaching faculty representative of the diverse communities we serve. Everyday our teachers and staff bring their authentic selves to work; creating equitable, rigorous, and vibrant learning environments. Our schools are home to educators who come to us from industry and those who have followed the traditional path into teaching. We encourage you to get to know our culture by viewing student projects and staff bios on our school webpages.
