Holmes Scholars Program

The AACTE Holmes Scholars Program was established to create equity, diversity and cultural competence in programs of higher education and P-12 schools. Scholars serve a two-year term.

At the graduate level, we offer courses like Counseling Multicultural and Diverse Populations (EDPS 507), Gender and Culture in Science Education (EDCI 618) and Global Issues in Education (EDCI 685), as well as Culture and Cognition (EDPS 510).

Our Programs

STEM Goes Rural seeks to attract talented, committed individuals with backgrounds in the STEM fields – science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – into teaching in high-need rural Indiana high schools.

 

This degree program is designed for teachers seeking advanced academic qualifications, for those attempting to meet the requirements for initial licensure in school services personnel and in administration and supervision, and for those wishing to undertake a degree program at the beginning graduate level.

 

The primary area of study will include both foundational and specialized education courses. All doctoral programs must include advanced graduate courses in statistics and one advanced course in basic research methodology, as well as courses in the student’s chosen area of specialization.

 

The College of Education and Purdue University offer incoming and current graduate students a number of prestigious fellowships, scholarships and awards. Funding enables graduate students to further their education without the burden of student loans.
