School District of Lee County is the ninth-largest district in Florida and the 32nd-largest school district in the United States*. We proudly educate over 90,000 students in grades K-12. Schools in Lee County play a key role in community life. With 12,000+ full- and part-time employees, the School District is one of the county’s largest employers, and with the District’s construction program, building new schools and renovating and expanding existing facilities, the District has been the area’s largest developer.
Students with a wide range of abilities and diverse needs will participate in general education. These environments are interactive and stimulating, structured around principles that acknowledge and celebrate the inherent diversity in a group of similarly aged learners.
The District Vision, To Be a World-Class School System, is supported by the mission, philosophy, and definition of Inclusive Schooling, established by the District Inclusion Steering Committee in 2000
