Our Mission

At Inly, our dynamic Montessori+™ practices inspire our inclusive community of learners to explore and shape ourselves and the world with joyful persistence, curiosity, and compassion.

Montessori Philosophy

Dr. Maria Montessori (1870-1952) was an early expert on child development. She believed that children are motivated by a natural curiosity and thirst for knowledge. She felt that if a child were allowed to experience the empowerment of learning by his own choice rather than being forced, and if his skills for learning were honed, the child would be in a unique position to maximize his future learning situations.

Our Culture, Diversity & Equity

Inly School aspires to foster global citizenship, and to be a community that represents, explores, and honors a diverse mix of experience and expression. Multicultural education and practice is the responsibility and privilege of every member of the Inly community. Inly actively seeks faculty, families, and leadership who embrace and practice skills that reflect our Montessori core values of grace, courtesy, respect, compassion, and empathy.

Our Practices

The mission of the Office of Inclusion is to dismantle systemic racism and build toward an antiracist, multicultural and diverse community at Inly; by developing competent, aware and reflective teaching teams, armed with tools to transform the supremacist narrative of our collective historical context.

Inly School is fully accredited by the Association of Independent Schools in New England (AISNE) and the American Montessori Society (AMS).

Our Teachers

We are Montessori educators who work collaboratively to build a rich, inclusive and diverse culture. We ensure that our students not only achieve high academic success, but also excel in the next century skills necessary to navigate the world as thoughtful global citizens. Our nurturing teachers foster each student’s natural curiosity and inclination to learn. Individuality is celebrated at Inly, and our commitment to education in the arts, athletics, makerspace and outdoor classroom ensure that each student finds their passion.
After more than 45 years of practice, we have seen that successful faculty and staff at Inly understand and embrace the following:
