The Cooper School is a private, independent, non-sectarian school that values the participation of families from diverse backgrounds. Founded in 2007, The Cooper School is a 501(c) 3 non-profit institution. A progressive and project-based school school, The Cooper School offers and exceptional holistic education for children in grades K-6. Academic excellence, stewardship of the environment, activity and creativity are all hallmarks of The Cooper School Curriculum.

The Cooper School believes that a healthy learning environment reflects the composition of the local community and the complex world around it. We believe that our understanding of ourselves and others benefits from collaboration among people of a variety of experiences and backgrounds. We want our students to be responsible citizens with the sensitivity, skills and sense of justice required for living in an increasingly dynamic and diverse society. Therefore, The Cooper School is committed to creating an inclusive and uplifting community that welcomes members of differing ability, age, class, ethnicity, nationality, gender, race, and religion.

We believe that all children and adults at The Cooper School should have an opportunity to thrive in a community that supports and affirms them. To this end, our current goals include continuing to increase the diversity in our student and staff population; creating a curriculum that reflects a variety of cultures; and fostering a sense of belonging among all families at The Cooper School.

The Cooper School Curriculum values challenging academics not only because they pave the path for success in school, but because exercising the mind can be joyful.
