The student body at the schools served by Sikeston R-6 is 53% White, 34.2% Black, 0.7% Asian or Asian/Pacific Islander, 4.9% Hispanic/Latino, 0.1% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0% Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. In addition, 7.1% of students are of two or more races, and 0% have not specified their race or ethnicity.

Also, 48% of students are female, and 52% of students are male. At schools in Sikeston R-6, 54.1% of students are eligible to participate in the federal free and reduced-price meal program and 0.7% of students are English language learners.

          Our SUPERINTENDENT

          ABOUT OUR SUPERINTENDENT

          Shannon Holifield comes to the position with 29 years of education experience. She has served as classroom teacher, coach, principal and the last seven years as an assistant superintendent at Sikeston. “I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to lead the Sikeston school district,” Holifield said. “The hard work and dedication of our staff inspires me daily, and I can’t wait to continue our work together. Shannon Holifield’s leadership and knowledge of the district will contribute to a seamless season of transition. “The Board of Education looks forward to working with Mrs. Holifield to ensure that together we continue to inspire, ignite and empower those entrusted to our district,” Bles said. Robinson’s last day as superintendent is slated for June 30, and Holifield will assume the position July 1. “I am fortunate to be a part of such a great team,” Holifield said. “Sikeston won my heart 15 years ago, and I will forever bleed red and black. This is home. …Go Bulldogs!”
