Melissa M. Stilley
Melissa Martin Stilley, a Tangipahoa native, has a 33-year career in education. She became the first female Superintendent of Schools in Tangipahoa Parish in June 2018. Melissa eradicated truancy, reformed disciplinary practices, and implemented technology for every student. She resolved a 55-year-old desegregation case and led construction projects without additional tax dollars. Melissa gained public support for a sales tax dedicated to employee salaries and developed strategic plans for student achievement. She has received various recognitions and serves on several boards. Melissa holds a Master’s Degree and completed the coursework for her Doctorate in Educational Leadership.
