ABOUT

Anita Huggins is a highly respected educator known for her unwavering commitment and dedication to the Charleston County School District over the past two decades. As Superintendent of Schools, her passion for closing the achievement gap for students of color has been evident through district-wide efforts in literacy and mathematics education, including her involvement in important ESSER funding initiatives in several constituent areas. Ms. Huggins played a vital role in designing, implementing, and assessing the success of programs that support Vision 2027, with the goal of ensuring all students read at grade level by the Spring of 2027. Additionally, she was a key figure in the efforts that led CCSD to achieve its highest-ever SC Ready scores.
