ABOUT US

Grossmont Union High School District is located just minutes from the junction of I-8/I-15. We are comprised of 11 comprehensive high schools (two of which are independent charter schools), one continuation school, alternative and special education programs that reflect the rich diversity of San Diego’s East County. The culture, traditions, and rich history of each school reflect the diverse communities in which they serve.

The culture, traditions, and rich history of each school reflect the diverse communities in which they serve. The uniqueness of each school setting creates a more personalized atmosphere throughout the District. The District also operates a very comprehensive adult school and Career Technical Education Program. The Grossmont Union High School District educates over 22,000 students and employs approximately 1800 teachers, administrators and classified employees. We strive to have diversity in our staff, which represents our community’s culture, ethnicity and background.

Our Mission

Attaining goals through perseverance, balance, and discipline.

As Grossmont High School strives to be an outstanding school, we must have a clear sense of the goals we want to accomplish and the commitments required by students, staff, parents, and community members to achieve our vision.

Our Equal Opportunity

Grossmont Union High School District programs and activities shall be free from discrimination, harassment, intimidation, and bullying based on age, gender, sex, race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, nationality, ethnic group identification, ethnicity, marital or parental status, physical or mental disability, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation or the perception of one or more of such characteristics. (GUHSD Board Policy 5145.3)

Our Curriculum

The site functions primarily to provide GUHSD teachers and staff critical information about GUHSD’s common-core aligned, district-wide ELA summative writing assessments. Additionally, this site contains documentation designed to assist teachers and schools in their efforts to more closely align teaching practices, expectations, and objectives with the common core state standards. Achieving these purposes will ideally further promote confidence, conversation, collaboration, and equity between and within GUHSD schools.

We strive to have diversity in our staff, which represents our community’s culture, ethnicity and background.
