About Us

Franklin Towne Charter High School opened in 1999 and is one of 89 public charter schools in Philadelphia. Franklin Towne prides itself on meeting the needs of its nearly 1,200 students in grades 9-12 through three strands: providing a rigorous college preparatory program; integrating performance, applied, and service learning into the regular school clay; and maintaining choice and variety as real student options.

Mission & Vision

The following Mission Statement was generated as a collective effort between FTCHS administrators, parents, community members and our students.

It is our hope and desire that each member of the Franklin Towne community use it, as a guideline, when making all decisions that affect our students and school.

“Franklin Towne Charter High School is a college preparation program willing to do whatever it takes to provide a warm and encouraging, family-like atmosphere for all of our students.”
