French American International School

A DIVERSITY RECRUITMENT Member

Think Internationally.

The French American International School is a PK-12 independent school in San Francisco. Founded in 1962, the school has grown from a small French bilingual academy to a multicultural, multilingual educational institution with over 1,100 students across an urban campus in the heart of the City. Guided by the principles of academic rigor and diversity, the French American International School offers programs of study in French and English to prepare its graduates for a world in which the ability to think critically and to communicate across cultures is of paramount importance. Our international community brings together people from many backgrounds. Together we strive to create a shared culture that develops compassionate, confident and principled people who will make the world better. We base our community on these values: Respect, Integrity, Inclusion, Collaboration, Curiosity.

EMPLOYMENT

“Our administration cares about us so much. I know they care because they listen.”

The quote above came from a student. And it accurately reflects the approach taken by our Leadership Team. The team is made up of professionals seasoned in the worlds of education and business, replete with experience from around the globe. Together, the team brings their talents and passion to our school, to build upon the progress of those before them, and to keep our school on a path of continuous improvement. By doing so, and by continuing to listen to our students and our faculty, our leadership team strives to assure French American + International remains one of the most respected international schools in the world today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

DIVERSITY & EQUITY

EQUAL OPPORTUNITY

Working at French American + International opens up a myriad of opportunities – both personal and professional. Critical to our Strategic Plan in creating a proud, engaged community, we appreciate our faculty and staff by fostering a community of ongoing learning, respect and collegiality and by providing competitive compensation and benefits.

OUR COMMUNITY

More than a school, we are a community.

When you choose a school, you choose the community in which your child and your family will live and grow for the coming years. That community matters, immensely: it must enrich, support, and inspire your child and family, all in equal measure.

Our community includes French American International School (Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8) and International High School (Grade 9 through Grade 12).

OUR DIVERSITY

At French American, our students experience a unique, bilingual environment. By Grade 8, our students are fluent in both French and English.

In Grade 9, our community expands to include incoming students from across San Francisco and families from around the globe. Many of these students are not bilingual, yet they all have a desire to experience the world around them.

At International High School, students earn an internationally recognized baccalaureate diploma in addition to a U.S. high school degree. We prepare our students to go on to thrive at the best universities, anywhere in the world.

About Us

French American International School: Bilingual immersion in PK through Grade 8.

International High School: Rigorous high school path to graduating with the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma or French Baccalauréat diploma.

We are deliberately innovative. We are San Francisco’s:

  • First bilingual school. Our doors opened in 1963.
  • Fourth school in the U.S. to offer the International Baccalaureate diploma, of over 1,300 in the U.S. today.
  • Only true international school. We have the faculty and global travel programming to prove it.
  • PK – Grade 12 school. We accompany many families along their child’s entire educational journey, from the very first day of school through high school graduation.

Our Mission & Guiding Principles
