Our Culture, Diversity & Equity

The Office of Equity and Accountability oversees the division assessment programs, ensures a fair and impartial division, and is responsible for the administration of Title I, II, III, and IV federal programs, which support instructional programs and targeted services to schools.

The Equity, Diversity, and Opportunity Committee (EDOC) acts as an advisory arm to the SCPS Office of Equity by providing additional information, ideas, and support regarding matters of equity, diversity, and inclusion in our schools. EDOC, like the SCPS Office of Equity, exists to ensure equity prevails in SCPS, and that all students and staff are valued and affirmed.

Our Recruitment

With thirty-two schools and a variety of supporting departments, Stafford County Public Schools is full of opportunities for professionals of many backgrounds.

Our division prioritizes the professional growth of our employees. Under the direction of the Department of Learning & Organizational Development, staff development seminars are offered to address school-wide initiatives, including technology, multicultural education, and curriculum strategies. Seminar offerings are numerous and may be utilized for Virginia licensure renewal credit.

Our Teachers

We strive to ensure the success of all new teachers by offering a Colleague And Mentor Program (C.A.M.P.). Through C.A.M.P., new teachers are provided a mentor, staff development opportunities, and ongoing support throughout their first year in our division.

We want SCPS to be the employer of choice in this area– we are committed to making SCPS too good to leave, pursuing human-centered policies and practices for recruitment and retention and modeling a welcoming, supportive environment.
