Dr. Ricardo López has been leading Garland ISD as superintendent since January 2018. He is committed to providing access, equity, and opportunity for all students, enhancing special education and dyslexia services, and closing achievement gaps. Dr. López is known for his collaborative leadership approach and has received several awards for his innovative educational initiatives. He has over 20 years of experience in education and is a husband and father of four daughters, two of whom attend school in Garland ISD.
